No! to Manolete bullfighting movie From January 2006 a movie called "Manolete" will be made in Spain. It will promote bullfighting. Oscar winner Adrien Brody will take lessons in bullfighting for the movie. Actress Penélope Cruz will also star in the movie. Her management claims that it won't promote bullfighting. In a reply to FAACE, the production company Lola Film says that it “wants to stress that there will be no killing, torture or mistreatment of bulls or any other animals during the shooting of the film. Computer-generated images and physical effects will be used to guarantee the welfare of any animals involved in the shooting of Manolete." Lola Film says that “Manolete is first and foremost a love story of great cultural and historical importance." In interviews the producer said, that he wants to bring the life of the bullfighter into the minds of the younger people in Spain. The director hopes it will also be accepted by bullfighting aficcionados. There is a great attention to the accuracy of the details of the bullfight. As far as FAACE is concerned this film will glorify of bullfighting and therefore be a promotion of bullfighting!   *** Please protest and send either the sample or your own letter to the addresses given below.
